Last Saturday I got together with a bride whose wedding I shot last year. She wants to get into some modelling so I agreed to do a shoot to get her some photos to get started. We spent most of the day at the Falstaff Hotel in Leamington Spa. It’s recently had a makeover in the bar area which I particularly liked and thought it would work well with this kind of shoot – lots of black furniture with black walls and a black and white tiled floor.

Last Saturday I attended my first Superfly model shoot over at the Superfly club in Leicester. I didn’t know what to expect at first but once the photography kicked off it was pretty much non-stop throughout the day until 4pm! I then had to get back to the Hilton Hotel in Warwick for an event that had been booked through my sister company Event-Pics.
Full Gallery here.
The shoot was very busy with 25 models and 8 photographers. This provided plenty of opportunities to work with various models during the day and try out different lighting techniques. I found it very useful and plan to attend future events.

I shot a set of photos on Sunday evening for a charity calendar that is being put together by the staff at the Tesco store in Warwick. This was the first time I’d done something like this and wasn’t sure what to expect however everything went smoothly and I’ve got some good photos for them to use. I’ll post some on the blog at a later date once the calendar has been produced.
All the staff that took part were great to work with and we had a lot of fun. The pictures were taken in and around the store with various teams each doing their photo in their particular area. Credit goes to them all for enduring a rather cool store while maintaining warm smiles, especially one young lady who bravely ‘took to the ice’ for her shot. You’ll need to buy the calendar to see that one
Thanks to Kerrie (my wedding assistant) and Paul for their assistance during the 4 hours we were there. The calendar will be available in the Tesco store in Warwick before Xmas, priced at £10.00 and all proceeds will be donated to charity. The chosen charity/ies are still being decided at the moment.

I am attending Wedding Fairs at the Falstaff Hotel in Leamington on the 27th September and then at Henley Golf & Country Club on the 4th October. If you’d like to come along and have an informal chat about the services I offer then I’d love to see you.
The fair on the 27th will start at 12pm and finish at 4pm and on the 4th October the fair starts at 11am and finishes at 3.30pm.
I hope to have some special offers available to those who decide to book on either of the dates and I look forward to seeing you all.

I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Eleanor and Steve at St Mary’s Guildhall which is right next to Coventry Cathedral. It’s a splendid location for a wedding with a lot of history behind it. My business partner from Event-pics Paul assisted my during the day and captured some wonderful moments that would otherwise get missed. The couple were delightful and were happy to pose for a variety of shots throughout the day. Although the weather was against us at times we still managed to capture some wonderful shots in and around the cathedral ruins.

Saturday 13th June saw me and my assistant Kerrie covering the wedding of Kate and Adam. Kate had chosen to theme her wedding day around that of a village fete. Complete with many metres of bunting, Morris Dancers, cricket on the village green and a reception in the village hall, the day was complete with some cracking weather. The wedding took place in Rowington, a lovely little village not far from Warwick and after a ceremony in St Laurence Church the guests all headed back to Rowington Village Hall to be met by a drinks reception and village entertainment. Here are a few photos from the day.

On Sunday 5th April I was at Wroxall Abbey to shoot the wedding of Karen & Sam with Paul assisting me. We couldn’t have asked for a better day, the weather was great the venue was stunning and the most importantly the couple and their guests were great.

Last Sunday, 25th January I had the pleasure of meeting Karen & Sam once more. They are due get married in a couple of months so we met at Wroxall Abbey for a pre-wedding session. Though it was cold the weather was fine and provided some nice soft light for the outdoor shots. This was the first time I have shot photos at Wroxall Abbey and I must say I’m looking forward to shooting the wedding very soon…

On Saturday 20th September, Paul, Kerrie and I, working as Event-pics travelled to Fawsley Hall in Northamptonshire to photograph the wedding of Julia and Will. Julia is a good friend of ours and we have provided an event photography service for her hotel functions and parties over the last few years. Though the day was one of the longest so to date we had a great time – the weather was excellent, the venue stunning and most importantly the couple and their guests were great. We also set up our temporary studio during the evenings celebrations so that guests could come and have a photo taken and printed as a memento of the day.
Here are a few photos from the day including one of a budding new photographer…

Here’s a few images from the last wedding I photographed which was held on both Friday afternoon and Saturday evening. Friday was a nice quiet family event for Madeleine and Matthew and was held at the Woodside Hotel near Kenilworth. The only downside to the day was the weather although that didn’t dampen the spirit of the day at all.
On Saturday evening the couple held a larger function for both family and their friends, again this was a lot of fun and I had Paul, my business partner from Event-pics helping me. Paul tends to specialise in portrait photography and has some excellent photographs on his own website. Also Kerrie, an A level student was with us gaining some wedding photography experience to help with her coursework towards an A level in photography.
