Well I haven’t done very well updating this blog over the last 18 months. Not that I haven’t been doing anything but more of it being one of those things that’s taken a low priority. Anyway I’ve recently updated my main website which also incorporates a blog so I may just start posting everything on there. I have had an opportunity to shoot my first Hindu wedding ceremony over August Bank Holiday weekend. Shalini & Robert were having a Western ceremony on the Saturday and a Hindu ceremony on the Sunday. My work actually started late on Friday afternoon with the bride at a Hindu pre-wedding ceremony. It was a very busy weekend but also very enjoyable. The most interesting part was understanding the various stages of the Hindu ceremony from when the two families meet each other through to when the groom takes the bride away signified by the crushing of a coconut under a wheel of the wedding car.
Working with my assistant Kerrie we ended up with over 2500 images from the entire weekend. Here are a few from both days…

While getting set up for a wedding I thought I’d check out the light coming in from one of the windows in the room the Bride was using.
